All the exciting new specs of Everrati’s flagship supercar, an electric version of the legendary GT40

Everrati Automotive Limited (Everrati), the world’s leading technology company specializing in redefining and future-proofing automotive icons, has revealed full technical details of its new high-performance, zero-emission version of the legendary GT40, a flagship that sets new standards for electrified classics.

To further the legacy of one of the most desirable cars in the world, the meticulous attention applied by Everrati includes the creation of the company’s proprietary EV propulsion platform using automotive OEM-grade development processes and technologies, coupled with state-of-the-art electric motors and batteries .

Based on the exceptional experience of Everrati’s engineering team, having worked with automotive OEMs for more than 50 years, and the strong strategic partnerships it has developed with leading component manufacturers, the technology presented by the GT40 has proven itself to the highest possible standards, certified from high-volume vehicle applications.

Everrati’s sophisticated technical know-how, applied to every aspect of project development, guarantees that the performance and characteristics of the original car are maintained and improved where necessary.

Everrati, headquartered in Oxford, UK, partnered with Superformance last July to precisely re-engineer the legendary Le Mans-winning car with a bespoke electric powertrain for a zero-emissions future. Based in Jupiter, Florida, Superformance is a world leader in the manufacture of 1960s sports cars and produces a rolling chassis for the license-built GT40.

This makes the Everrati the only GT40 EV in the world to be listed in the official Shelby directory.

Everrati Engineering Director Mike Kerr: “Future-proofing a car with the legendary status of the GT40 is both a privilege and a challenging responsibility. Quality and authenticity are paramount at every stage. For this reason, at Everrati, we insist that the entire design and development process is documented and controlled using OEM-derived practices. The use of Everrati V model product design and delivery methodologies ensures that quality is maintained at every stage of the vehicle development process, from concept to post-production acceptance.

“Everrati delivers the best electric cars in the world, preserving the original characteristics of the past champions we are working on so that they can be enjoyed by enthusiasts in the coming era of zero-emission mobility.”

Proprietary EV Technology

All technical development was carried out at Everrati’s UK headquarters in Upper Heyford, a former US Air Force base in the English Cotswolds, with a focus on delivering the exhilarating levels of performance and driving pleasure that enthusiasts demand from a redefined version of one iconic cars would expect, while retaining the soul and integrity of the original.

Everrati’s proprietary, state-of-the-art EV powertrain produces up to 800hp and 800Nm of torque, with Integral Powertrain’s state-of-the-art technology providing two powerful, OEM-validated, radial-flux permanent magnet electric motors that power the car’s rear axle.

The power-dense 60kWh lithium-ion battery, integrated with an industry-leading 700-volt electrical system, benefits from advanced liquid-cooling and thermal and safety management systems to support high-performance use on the road and track. The battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 45 minutes via an 80 kW CCS fast charger and offers a range of more than 200 km.

To ensure optimal weight distribution and improve vehicle dynamics, every element of the powertrain, including the battery and powertrain, utilizes existing chassis structural attachment points. The battery packs are positioned within the sills and behind the driver and front passenger, while the battery’s low positioning in the chassis also optimizes rearward visibility.

This careful approach means the GT40 offers a 40/60 F/R weight distribution, even better than the original 1966 GT40 MKII A that raced at Le Mans (38/62), while its curb weight of 1,320kg makes it 47kg lighter than a fully tanked vehicle in time too.

The 6.52:1 single reduction compound reduction gear system and racing-derived limited slip differential are fully optimized for the dual electric motor installation system. Engineered for efficient, ultra-fast power delivery, the Everrati GT40 delivers breathtaking acceleration that rockets to 60mph in under four seconds and on to a top speed of more than 125mph.

Atmospheric soundtrack synchronized with driver controlled shifts

But the GT40 offers more than just sensational performance. Making the car as characterful, engaging and fun as possible was also a critical focus. Using technology developed for high-end racing simulators and existing premium EV sports cars, Everrati gives the driver the ability to evoke the visceral engagement of the original GT40 in “race mode”.

By selecting this mode, the driver (and passenger) will experience two active sound generators that deliver up to 110dB amplified V8 exhaust sound.

The shifter – typically used to select drive, reverse or neutral – also allows the driver to select virtual gears, with each shift synchronized to the sound generators and torque delivery, giving a corresponding momentary ‘pause’ in acceleration to ensure that the driver does so evokes the experience of driving a car with a conventional gearbox.

Seat-mounted transducers further immerse the driver in an alluring listening experience that is truly immersive.

Safety is also a priority as the vehicle’s sophisticated, motorsport-derived user interface provides the driver with extensive live data on the performance and health of every element of the EV powertrain. With driver permission, an integrated 4G data logger provides additional security by allowing Everrati engineers remote access for diagnostic purposes.

Ready to meet global demand

The development of the GT40 also aligns with Everrati’s ever-growing ability to meet increasing demand for its electric classics, thanks to the successful application of its repeatable and scalable production process, made possible by the development of its proprietary propulsion platform, allowing application to the most classic Vehicles, regardless of the powertrain. This business model will allow the company to quickly establish manufacturing partnerships in new markets around the globe as interest in Everrati vehicles continues to grow. Everrati has already entered into a strategic partnership with Aria Group in Irvine, California to begin building electric versions of the Porsche 964 (911) for the US market.

Everrati Engineering Director Mike Kerr: “A car like the GT40 has a heritage and performance that inspires high expectations. Through our strategic partnership with Superperformance, we are convinced that we have achieved something extraordinary. The Everrati engineering team is very proud to have received the honor of developing the only GT40 EV in the world to be listed on the official Shelby registry. Our OEM-derived process approach has produced a car with exceptional performance. At the same time, our advanced driver-focused visceral engagement technology will allow drivers to access a fully immersive listening experience and take the romance of the era where the GT40 dominated the 1960s Le Mans 24 Hours into a new era to revive emission-free electromobility from zero.”

Justin Lunny, Everrati Founder and CEO: “The GT40 embodies the Everrati philosophy. While many companies are electrifying classic cars, our approach goes well beyond that. Using an OEM mentality and expertise, we redefine the vehicle as a new car with the latest design and engineering, executed by a team with extensive experience at some of the world’s most famous car manufacturers. The GT40 shows how Everrati is taking the art of future-proof automotive icons to the next level through electrification. And with a scalable production process and an ambitious strategy to work with new manufacturing partners, we are poised to grow the business and engage with a new global customer base for the GT40 and our other models.”
