The Renault Kadjar will be replaced in the fall by the new Renault Austral. This compact SUV is coming to the end of its career and will not be renewed under the same name, having failed to score as well as the Peugeot 3008.
However, this does not slow down all buyers, since 4923 Kadjar were registered in France over the first 5 months of 2022. It thus ranks in 34th position, far behind the 3008 which is 7th with more than 17,000 copies. If it is overtaken by the new Hyundai Tucson, it still manages to do better than the Nissan Qasqhai and Volkswagen Tiguan.
The current range of the Renault Kadjar 2022
Renault has seriously reduced the autonomy of its Kadjar for the end of its career. It is now only offered in two trim levels: Evolution and Techno.
The Kadjar Evolution TCe 140 is displayed at 32,400 euros at list price, with the following equipment: reversing camera, hands-free card, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, R-Link 2 with navigation and 7″ touch screen, Tinted windows and rear window, Gloss black mirror cover17-inch Aquila black diamond-cut alloy wheels, front and rear parking sensors and power-folding door mirrors.
At 34,600 euros, the Kadjar Techno also adds the following equipment: Full LED Pure Vision headlights, Blind spot warning, 19″ Yohan diamond-cut alloy wheels, Electrochromic interior mirror, LED fog lights with chrome finishers, Passenger seat with height adjustment, Mirrors with welcome light, Rear seat air vents, Chrome longitudinal roof barsthe sand Active emergency braking.
Customers always have the choice between several engines. Apart from the TCe 140 manual gearbox, the TCe 140 is offered in an EDC gearbox for 2000 euros more. In diesel, only one proposal remains with the Blue dCi 115 hp EDC displayed at 36,000 euros with the Evolution finish.
The Renault Kadjar offered from stock
The French manufacturer also offers Kadjars from stock, available quickly. 184 cars are currently listed on the Renault site, exclusively for new units. For example, there is a Kadjar Evolution TCe 140 EDC at 28,941 euros instead of 35,230 euros. That is a commercial discount of around 19%.
Other antique finishes are available, such as Intens or Business. This means that these copies are produced for longer, with an extended lifespan.
The Kadjar Techno TCe 140 EDC are available from 30,393 euros instead of 37,430 euros. Again, the discount is attractive with almost 20% off.
Buy a new Kadjar or wait for Austral?
The new generation of Renault’s compact SUV will be offered at higher prices than the Kadjar, and with discounts which should initially be very low or even non-existent for individuals. On purchase, the Kadjar can therefore represent a good deal new. Provided, however, that you have not planned to keep it short-lived, because its rating should drop when its successor arrives.
If its road qualities and its level of comfort remain quite honorable for its age, its style is slowly starting to go out of fashion. You can for fairly close budgets turn to a Renault Captur or an Arkana, more modern and offered with hybrid engines never offered on the Kadjar.
